How to use Noodle Assistant

How to use Noodle Assistant: saving from other apps, voice notes, search, the Library, Ask, Plan, reminders, settings and backups, step by step.

Getting started

Install Noodle on your Android phone
Download Noodle Assistant from noodleassistant.com and install it on your Android phone. It takes about two minutes; Android may ask you to allow installs from your browser.
Set up Noodle the first time you open it
Go through the short welcome screens: your name, your languages and an optional sign-in that downloads smart features. You can skip any of them.
Find your way around Noodle: the five tabs and Home
What each of the five tabs at the bottom of Noodle does (Home, Search, Save, Library and Settings) and what every card and button on Home is for.

Save from other apps with the Share button
Share a YouTube video, an Instagram post, a web page, photos, a PDF, a WhatsApp voice message or a contact to Noodle, then file it in a category.
Save notes, links and files on the Save page
Use the + tab to build one save from several parts (a note, a link, photos, a PDF, a voice note), give it a title and file it in a category.
Record a voice note and see your words as you speak
Tap the mic on the Save page to record with your words appearing on screen, or hold it for a quick note. Recordings run up to 30 minutes and stay on your phone.
Save photos, videos and PDFs, and find the words in them
Add photos, videos and PDFs from your gallery, camera or files. Noodle reads the words in photos and PDF pages so you can search them, and keeps photos in a Noodle Assistant folder.
Capture in one tap with the widget and Quick Settings tiles
Add the Noodle widget to your home screen, put Record, Photo and Note tiles in the pull-down panel, or keep a capture notification. None of them ever show your notes.

Search your saves by describing them
Type what you remember, in your own words, and Noodle finds the save even when it uses different words. Filter by source, category, tag or date, or search by voice.
Browse and filter everything you saved in the Library
The Library lists every save, newest first. Filter it by source, category or tag, and select several items at once to file or delete them together.
Open a save: watch, read, edit and plan from its screen
What a save looks like when you open it: its category and tags, its parts, the video player and reader, and the buttons for editing, reminders, Plan it and sharing.

File your unsorted saves with To organize
To organize lists every save without a category. Go through them one by one with Start organizing, or select several and file them together in a category.
Organize saves with categories and tags
Every save has one category and up to 10 tags. Add, rename, reorder and delete categories, merge tags, and choose whether Noodle suggests or files things for you.

Ask Noodle questions about your saves
Ask a question in plain words and Noodle answers from what you saved, with sources you can tap. It runs on your phone after a one-time download of about 500 MB.
Get a short summary of a long video, article or PDF
Tap Summarize on a long save and Noodle writes a few paragraphs about it on your phone. The summary is kept with the save, and you can make a new one any time.

Plan your day with a short daily list
Add up to six tasks for a day, put them in order, tick them off, and let unfinished ones move to tomorrow by themselves. Link a task to a save and plan tomorrow tonight.
Get reminders for dates in your saves
Noodle spots dates in your notes, photos and PDFs and offers reminders: a month before, a week before and on the day. Add your own to any save, snooze them or mark them done.

Find your way around Noodle Settings
What each part of the Settings tab does, from your name and languages to the theme, categories, quick capture, the Daily reminder, backup and the advanced screens.
Sign in and choose your AI languages
Why Noodle has an optional sign-in, what it knows about you, how to sign in with Google or an email code, change your AI languages, sign out or delete your account.
Download smart features and manage storage
Which optional downloads Noodle offers (voice notes, smarter search, photo search, Ask Noodle), how big they are, how to get them on Wi-Fi and how to delete them.
Back up and restore your Noodle library
Export everything you saved to one backup file, keep it somewhere safe, and import it on a new phone or after a reinstall. Noodle keeps a copy of the old library when you restore.

Everything you save stays on your phone. Here is exactly when Noodle goes online, what it sends, and which features work with no connection at all.
